PLACEMENT CELL – Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management

Placement cell will have a pivotal role in grooming the students & to take care of better placements. The Cell helps each student in exploring ‘Training and Placement’ opportunities by inviting various internationally branded hotels for OJT(On Job Training for 6th semester students) and on-campus/off-campus recruitments/placements of students who are in the final year of the programme and are likely to graduate at the end of the academic year.

The final placements, at the Institute, are the result of very systematic interaction with the industry and continuous career counseling of the students. Right from the beginning of the programme, students are continuously counseled with regard to his/her career aspirations and options, which in turn is vigorously followed up with the potential hotel groups for participating in the placement programme of the Institute. This not only helps the students in getting their ‘dream’ jobs but also assists the visiting recruiters in identifying the ‘right’ candidate for their organization.

The Training & Placement related activities, at the Institute, are carried out by Placement Cell/Committee under the supervision of the Principal as the Chairman of the cell. The cell comprises of the members as follows:

Each member in the cell will prepare a Placement itinerary, giving details of the students ready to be placed for the benefit of the students and potential recruiters. These details are subsequently shared with potential recruiters.

Eligibility for Placement

Students who are in their final year and interested in availing placement support from institute, will have to register themselves for placement. Those who don’t want any kind of placement support need not register themselves and they should give an undertaking signed by their parents stating that they do not require any assistance from the college to arrange On Job Training or job.
Students who fail to clear the academic exams & other formalities at the end of course, shall be removed from the placement process and hence will not be eligible for campus placement activities.
It will be the responsibility of a student to keep his/her resumes updated with placement cell.
Once the names of students are submitted, students are not allowed to withdraw from the selection process.
Only students who register for that particular job profile will be considered for the job opening and their names and CVs will be shared with the company.

Activities Undertaken by the Placement Cell are

Formation/re-constitution of Placement Committee for final placement and also for getting industrial training and industry linked project work for students. Preparation of Placement -Itinerary for final placement.
To arrange training & placements in National & International hotels.
Collecting the Resumes (hard copy & soft copy) from students of 3rd year and 4th year students in the first week of the academic session of 5th semester (for OJT) and 7th semester (for Placements/Job).
To collect the affidavit signed by the student & parent before sending them for the OJT.
To brief the students about the examination pattern of OJT before and after their training; also to make sure that the PPT, log book, PA form, training certificate, final OJT report etc; are maintained and submitted as per the norms.

To start contacting the hotels from the beginning of the academic year; all the students for OJT to be placed before September of every year.
Placement process for the final year students to start from July of every year and to be completed by February of the subsequent year.
Pre-placement visits (PPV) to the hotels.
Communication (to call the HR of hotels & to send the mails from college official email id), networking and relationship building with the potential recruiters for arranging OJT for 6th semester students & Placement for final year students (8th semester) and to do the timely follow-ups.
Invitation to potential recruiters to visit the Institute.
To arrange the facilities required for skype interview/campus interview etc.
To arrange the facilities requested by the recruiters including accommodation.
To announce the details of interview to the students through the way of notices in the notice board, SMS, announcing in the classroom etc.
Update the parents regarding the training & placements.
Continuation of placement activities after the stipulated period, till all the students are placed.
Grooming and training of the candidates for the OJT & Placements so that their chances of selection increase.
General follow-up, joining formalities and other administrative activities.
To undertake various activities of training and grooming of students in terms of conducting mock interviews, GD sessions, resume writing workshops, HR meetings etc.
Knowledge building sessions to conduct.
Training in basic communication skills to conduct.
Mock interviews to conduct.
Career Guidance sessions from industry experts helping students to make informed choices regarding their careers.
To help in managing industry interactions and industry relations.
To file all the correspondences with hotels; interview schedule, copy of offer letters for training & job; handover the reports to the Principal on time.
