HISTORY OF COLLEGE

An Educational Institution of Excellence, Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management established in 1992 by Dr. A. J. Shetty under Laxmi Memorial Education Trust®, Mangalore, Karnataka. Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management is one of the premier hospitality Institutes in South India providing quality hospitality educations at undergraduate level. The college is affiliated to Mangalore University, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, recognized by Govt. of Karnataka and NAAC accredited. 

Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management has founded with the vision of creating the best professionals in Hospitality Industry. From the outset, college focused on developing future leaders who would also possess the practical skills required to operate a business. The course offered at our college focus on hotel operational skills, management practice in the tourism and hospitality industry and the skills needed for continued learning in a changing global business environment. Students develop into dedicated professionals with qualifications that are recognized and highly regarded internationally. Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management aims to prepare graduates to deliver World Class Hospitality. The students are prepared to live and work in a demanding and challenging globalised environment. 

Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management (attached to a Three Star Hotel) gives a new dimension to the Hospitality Industry. The College follows a rigorous academic schedule which is complemented by a varied spectrum of co-curricular activities, providing the students with opportunities to display their creativity and talents. Apart from the core areas of academics, sports and extra-curricular, the college offers personality development programmes, placement training and counseling sessions in order to meticulously groom the students to be strong hospitality professionals. The college is aimed at creating skilled resources to the hospitality & tourism industry by preparing the students comprehensively to face the challenges of the society and industry. The institute is serving with extreme dedication of talented faculty fraternity with best in class infrastructure. 

The admission procedures in our institutions are stringent. While academic records form a strong base, success in aptitude tests help in further selection. Group Discussions and Interviews are the final deciding factors for selection. Once selected, they undergo rigorous training under the supervision of efficient and experienced faculty both within and outside the classes. Our fully equipped library, guest lectures, workshops by eminent academicians, industrialists, etc; enhance their knowledge.  

The Training and Placement Cell of our college organizes a number of training programs for the students with the help of in-house experts. The activities have proved exceptionally useful in shaping the career of students. Placements for the Final year students begin early January (Final Semester) and continue till March and sometimes till May; thereby ensuring maximum advantage to the students. The Training and Placement Cell facilitates on-campus as well as off-campus recruitments by giving a common platform to students seeking jobs. College invites internationally branded Five Star hotels and other recruiters such as Airlines, Cruise-lines and Fast-Food chains to be a part of the placement process.

Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management was awarded Education Excellence Award for the year 2013-14.
